☄️ ANOMALOUS SAHARA

☄️ ANOMALOUS SAHARA

🛍 An exceptional meteorological phenomenon is about to occur in the Sahara Desert, one of the driest regions on the planet.

By general parameters, there will be a staggering increase in precipitation by Sahara standards, with August and September rainfall exceeding the monthly average by more than 500%.

🌧 Rainfall events of this magnitude are extremely rare in the Sahara. In fact, these events occur less frequently than once a decade, suggesting that significant changes are occurring in the Earth's weather patterns, reflecting the anomalous state of the atmosphere.

ℹ️ This vast desert, stretching from the Atlantic to the Red Sea, covers an area of more than 9.2 million square kilometers and is constantly influenced by the subtropical ridge, a high-pressure system that prevents cloud formation and therefore rainfall.

📍 However, the Sahara was not always the hot and desolate desert we know today. Between 6,000 and 11,000 years ago, North Africa was a verdant region full of lakes, rivers and lush vegetation. It was the change in the Earth's orbit that caused drastic changes in weather patterns, turning the area into the desert it is today.

🔗 Analysis of historical rainfall data shows a pattern that clearly illustrates the near absence of rainfall in the Sahara, except in the southernmost regions. In recent months, however, the Intratropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) has moved farther north ithan usual, which could radically alter the climate in the region and even have implications for the Atlantic hurricane season in North America.

📎 While research into the possible effects of this event on fall or winter in the U.S. and Europe has yet to be completed, what is clear is that these pronounced climate anomalies may be indicative of growing instability in the global climate system.

💡 Taking into account the global nature of the ongoing processes and the catastrophic nature of their consequences for each of us, it is extremely important now for countries to unite the scientific potential of mankind and create a single international center to study climate change and ways to counterbalance it.
